After more than 20-years of experience as a leader in the health care and high technology industries, Heather Staples, Principal, founded Middleway Group in 2007 to offer a more comprehensive, high-touch approach to healthcare consulting. Middleway Group architects its services around the unique needs of its clients, rather than pursuing a formulaic approach more typical of larger consulting firms. 

As a privately-owned consulting firm, Middleway Group has established itself in the northeast and nationally as a leading, client-focused, solution-based partner.

Middleway Group’s areas of expertise include an in-depth understanding of health plan operations, benefit design and wellness program development, including the design, actuarial modeling and roll-out of the nation's first customizable benefits package offering.

Middleway Group also provides business management support including program and project management, strategic planning support, and product research and development.  Additionally, we employ Six-Sigma methodologies to assist clients with reorganization projects, business plan development or assessing operational efficiencies.

About Heather Staples

Heather’s experience in healthcare, spans independent physician practices, health insurance companies and software development firms. Prior to founding Middleway Group, Heather helped to found and served as Vice President of Product Development, Delivery and Engineering for Choicelinx Corporation, a CIGNA Health Care subsidiary. During her tenure at Choicelinx, Heather was responsible for driving product and technology strategy, and spearheading the development of employee benefit and wellness designs and supportive actuarial models.

Previous to her work with Choicelinx, Heather served as a Project Director at Healthsource NH and CIGNA Health Care, leading projects on product delivery, health cost escalation, operations consolidation, data warehousing, data analytics and financial reporting. She additionally managed Healthsource’s physician practices asset and led a physician board responsible for reimbursement and operational oversight.

Heather holds a Masters in Business Administration from Southern NH University, has taught Strategic Planning and has served as a thesis advisor for the Masters Degree Strategic Capstone at New England College.
